2023 Teens Dream - Climate for Youth

My goal is to create a month-long youth education program, particularly seeking out marginalized youth in nearby communities who may not have the same educational resources in STEM (such as girls or those in underserved schools). This program would teach students about the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics behind climate change and climate solutions. At the end of the program, students will form groups to create their own solutions to tackle climate change, participating in a culminating contest. With support from Teen Dreams, I hope to partner with elementary, middle, and high schools near me to make this program a reality. Monetary support would also allow me to distribute prizes to the winners at the end of the program, and purchase materials to keep the program running. This program would support the UN SDGs of quality education, gender equality, and climate action by empowering youth to pursue sustainable solutions while giving young girls and other marginalized groups access to STEM education.
