2025 Teens Dream - Children4Climate

I dream of a utopia where humans value the interconnectedness of all living beings and the environment. This utopia is a place where perfect harmony exists between nature, climate, and the environment. Seasons are balanced, and weather changes are normal. Not to forget the fact that the temperature is perfect for biodiversity to thrive. But there’s a deeper detail behind this utopia: in my dream, children are included in matters pertaining to sustainability, which includes building this utopia together whilst fostering intergenerational collaboration. They take charge of their well-being and contribute to a safer, healthier world through simple actions with a sense of environmental stewardship. In the future, these children become climate leaders and wouldn’t repeat the mistakes of the past, such as burning fossil fuels.

You’ve probably noticed that this dream intersects with the United Nations’ SDG 13 – Climate Action. In order to fulfill the targets of this goal, I believe that children should also be fully involved in taking beneficial sustainable habits. Do you know that all our efforts to reciprocate Mother Nature’s love and eradicate climate change would go to waste if the younger generations lacked a sense of environmental stewardship, as they are likely to repeat the mistakes of the past? Involving children now in the fight would only accelerate the rate at which we build the utopia, grow together, become environmentally responsible, and safeguard our future.

The Children4climate Initiative aims to achieve this and promote change by educating, engaging, and mobilizing children to combat climate change and the issue of global warming, while training them to become eco-champions.
