2025 Teens Deeam — Clean Water and Sanitation
My dream is to ensure that everyone in my region, the Northeast of Brazil, has access to clean water. Growing up in this region, I have witnessed how the lack of treated water leads to severe health issues. My mother suffered from schistosomiasis, and the treatment she underwent was very aggressive, causing many side effects. It was a privilege for our family to afford this treatment and for her to survive without fatal consequences, but this is not the reality for everyone.
In Brazil, access to clean water is a privilege for those with financial resources—a stark contrast to the majority. This inequality drives my desire to change the current situation, ensuring that people no longer suffer or lose their lives due to something as fundamental as clean water.
This dream directly aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. By working toward accessible and sustainable water solutions, I aim to bring healthier future to these communities in need.
