Teen's Dream

My dream is to see the Rímac River respected, protected, and valued as the vital source of life it is for Lima and Callao. More than 80% of the water consumed by over 10.4 million people comes from this river, yet it is treated as a dumping ground, putting our health and ecosystem at serious risk.

This reality reflects the lack of education and awareness about water care. In my community, pollution has become normalized, leading to gastrointestinal diseases, unsafe drinking water, and costly purification processes that could be prevented. The problem remains trapped in reports and statistics, without generating real social change.

That is why I created The Voice of the River, an initiative aligned with UN SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. My dream is to transform indifference into responsibility by educating, raising awareness, and giving a voice to the river itself. I believe contamination is not born from malice, but from ignorance, and through education and community action, we can restore the Rímac and ensure clean, safe water for present and future generations.
