2020 Teans Dream- Womb Care

My dream is to create an app that connects healthcare professionals to women in need of medical assistance. The app would only be accessible to women which would eliminate the possibility of rape or sexual assault. This app would essentially cut out the need for transportation to medical facilities which is the leading reason why two-thirds of births in Nigeria occur at home without the accompaniment of a medical professional. The medical care would be mainly childbirths as the infant mortality rates in Nigeria are the highest in all of Africa. Women in Nigeria make up 70% of the population in poverty so funding would be taken care of for those who could not support themselves. Medical professionals would be comprised of doctors and EMTs. The app would utilize only women in the medical field and would give women the opportunity to learn, train with, and shadow other female medical professionals.
