2020 Teens Dream – Eating with More Connections, Less Cell Phones

One thing that I’ve noticed during the COVID-19 lockdowns is that while people are eating in restaurants they are not on their phones, but actively talking to the people they are eating with. The third UN Sustainable Development Goal is to “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”, and mindful eating skills can increase well-being, as well as possibly help with weight loss. I think that this mindful eating, as well as the connections that can be strengthened through it, will continue even after this weird period in our time has passed.
