2020 Teens Dream- Up-cycle to Zero Hunger
My dream is for every person in this world no matter what race, ethnicity, economic position, gender, or more to be denied access to food. In order to do this I proposed an idea in which pop-up non-profit grocery stands are implemented in areas where food insecurity is prevalent. These stands would partner with large chain grocery stores and get food from them that has either passed its sell by date, is not cosmetically perfect, or was overstocked. This way food that is usually destined for dumpsters is now going to lessen food insecurity on both global and national levels. My dream relates to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 2: Zero Hunger. This is because my dream of no person ever having to worry about where their next meal comes from is a section of this goal. Zero Hunger is aiming to end hunger, end all forms of malnutrition, double agriculture productivity, maintain diversity in seeds, increase investment and more. I aim to better the Earth so that my future and those of my peers can be the best it possibly can be and my dream would get us one step closer.
