All I’ve ever wanted was to be treated with the same respect as men are, but from a young age I realized the extreme sexism that exists in every aspect of females lives due to society’s extremely old and misogynistic mindsets. As a sexual assault survivor, I’ve always strived for gender equality, not only on my country, but in foreign countries, such as Iran and Afghanistan, where women are forced to endure the dehumanization of their country’s oppressive totalitarian rule. Women’s human rights, including reproductive and educational rights have taken a loss on a global scale. Roe V. Wade was overturned, which had given women the right to reproductive healthcare of attaining abortions. The government has used false information to justify their reason for stripping abortion rights, which is extremely corrupt. Also, women in Iran and Afghanistan have been punished for fighting for their freedom of religion, speech, and to simply exist. I strive to be treated with the same respect as any man is, as well as fight for my own and all girls’ rights.
