Teen's Dream

Eleanor Roosevelt once said “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. Every morning, we have two choices: continue to sleep with our dreams, or wake up and chase them. I have decided to wake up and chase my own dream.

Waste generation has increased massively around the world in recent decades, and there are no signs of it slowing down. I am very much passionate on making the environment a safer, and conducive place to be. Since when I was a little girl, I always had this constant wheezing due to the smoke evading from the refuses that were being burnt.

The wheezing happened continuously which almost led to an asthmatic attack, so I sat down one day and thought about it, that there are so many people out there suffering from what they know nothing about (the insistent burning of wastes from other people), That is why I have decided to look for a way to tackle the problem of Illegal Dumping and Burning of Wastes. So, I came up with an idea which I called TRADE WASTE. Trade waste is a website that connects buyers and sellers of waste materials.

This is an open-source website where people can meet and sell their wastes instead of dumping them irresponsibly or even burning them. I know that through this means, Illegal Dumping would be reduced drastically and people would also want to join us in our quest for a cleaner and safer environment.

My dream relates to Sustainable Development Goal(SDG) 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities because the waste that are burnt and disposed are done within a particular environment and can pose a lot of physical effect to the peope living in that particular environment and can even cause harm to any living thing in that particular community.
